Where to Register and Host Your Domain

October 11th, 2011

In our previous post, you will notice an area where you will be able to search for a domain name for the start of growing your web presence.  You can do it right from here! The cost to you is minimal, only $7.49 or even less!  You may use the search box or click on the link below for special pricing.
Domain Sale! $7.49 .com at GoDaddy

Your domain name you choose should contain words that will reflect what your business is all about.  For instance, one of our other websites, wholesalequiltbatting.com  reflects what we sell – Quilt Batting!

As you can see our domain name, or URL as it is also referred to is a pretty long name.  Advice?  Choose something that is memorable; that is  14 letters or less including the .com, .net, etc.

Not all people are outstanding spellers.  Your goal is to make sure your visitors can type in the name of your website correctly to make it easier to find your business.
$1.99 Web Hosting   Hosting your domain name can be as little as $1.99 per month.  If you need more space, you may need to pay a little more.  We suggest that you spend no more than $10.00 per month for your web hosting.  If you are paying more than that, you are being taken advantage of.

What is web hosting?   Think of it as an apartment complex in the clouds.  There are many apartments in this cloud.  You need to rent one of these “apartments” to house your images and files in that pertain to your business.

Getting Started on Your Home Based Business

May 11th, 2011

Getting started with your new home based business is a  fairly simple process.

First, decide what you would like to be offering.  Is it a service?  Is it a tangible product or products?  This is step one in the process.

Now, do your market research.  A simple Google search will tell you how much other people are selling the same product you are selling – or service. Keep a journal, whether it be typed or handwritten, to outline your search results.

Your goal now is to beat the competition.  Start by keeping your prices slightly lower than your competitors.  Or if you can, lower your prices even more by offering incentives.

Incentives might include free shipping, for example.  Your PRIMARY goal is to give your target audience a reason to buy your service or product.
